San Antonio/ Fredericksburg Vacation Day 4

Time to go home.  But first, a stop in Fredericksburg to see the sights.  We played at a playground, did some shopping, and devoured the best meal of the trip.

The Old German Bakery and Restaurant served up the best meal of our entire trip: Schnitzel.  It was absolutely delicious!!
I just loved this cool door in the back of the restaurant:
Several rain storms, 2 lane roads, and potty stops made for a long trip home, but it was worth every minute! We had an awesome vacation.  As always, it's good to be home though.

San Antonio Vacation Day 3

A wonderful morning and early afternoon at DoSeum- a fantastic children's museum.  Our girls had a great time doing all the activities (except when they were bonking their heads on things.)

The Spy Room:
The Reading Room: (Ella and Mommy, Emma and Daddy)
The Playground: (Unfortunately, Ella fell and hit her head hard enough we had to ask for an ice pack and fill out an incident report.  She was fine after a while.)
 The Water Area:
 The Outdoor Story Area:
 Our Beautiful Butterflies:
 Playing with Air:
After the museum, we went to River Center Mall for a little shopping and a movie of the girls' choice, Angry Birds in 3D. We then ate a delicious dinner at a nearby Mexican food restaurant.  Our table was right beside the Riverwalk.
And of course we had to swim some more in the hotel pool!

San Antonio Vacation Day 2

After a brief worship service as a family, we headed to our one and only destination for the day: Fiesta Texas!  The lines weren't too bad, but it was rather hot.  We still had a great time!

We all rode this batman ride for the first time.  None of us particularly enjoyed it though.
Emma and Ella's Favorite Ride: Hurricane Force 5
Trying to cool off a bit:
When the day was done, Ella had decided she likes roller coasters with big drops, but not ones that go upside down.  Emma, on the other hand, doesn't like big drops, but loves going upside down.  Another great day with the family!

San Antonio Vacation Day 1

School's out for summer! As soon as the girls got out of school for summer, we loaded up and headed to San Antonio. We really packed in the activities on this first day!  We went to the Alamo, had lunch at Rita's on the Riverwalk, took a boat tour of the Riverwalk, walked all the way to the Tower of the Americas, explored there, walked to a nearby playground where the girls played on a splash pad, in the sand and on a ropes type course, walked all the way back to the car, dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings, and swimming at the hotel.  Whew!  Makes me tired just to think about it.

Near the Tower of the Americas:
Inside the Tower of the Americas, we watched a 30 min 4D version of Rio before heading out to the Observation Deck to look around.
A super fun playground complete with splash pad, sand pit, and ropes course.  (Good thing Mommy brought our swimsuits along.)

What a fun (and exhausting) day!
