School Christmas Party

Ella and Emma have really enjoyed having Conner and Olivia at preschool with them this semester.  We had a good time opening presents and singing the Christmas songs we learned for parents and grandparents at the party.

Santa Letters and Other Good Times

The girls wrote their own Santa letters this year, and I think they did a really good job for their first long piece of writing.

A November Mash-Up

This is what it looks like when you fall and
hit your head on a brick.  Ouch!
Funny Story: At an Applebee's Restaurant, Ella looks up and sees this poster.  She says, "That lady reminds me of someone."  We ask, "Who?" Her answer, "Grammie!"  We laugh and laugh, trying not to spit out the bites we just took. And of course, we text the picture and story to Grammie, so she could laugh too.

Leaves!

We have several trees in our yard, and when fall decides to appear, our yard disappears under all the leaves.  This year, Ella and Emma decided they really wanted to help rake.  Of course, we'll take all the help we can get dealing with all those leaves.  They had a great time raking, jumping in, throwing, resting in, and generally playing with the leaves! Happy Halloween from Dorothy and Glinda

We have recently finished reading "The Wizard of Oz" to the girls at bedtime.  When we completed the book, we watched the movie.  (I had not realized how very different the book is from the movie, although I should have expected that.)  So, of course, the girls wanted to be Dorothy and Glinda for Halloween.  Ella knew right away she wanted to be Dorothy.  At first, Emma wanted to be Toto, but I wasn't sure how difficult it would be to find a Toto costume, so she decided on Glinda instead.
They decided they needed to wear their Halloween socks with their costumes.
Ella and Emma were very excited to wear their costumes, so we did decided to give the costumes a try and practice Trick or Treating at Grammie and Grandy's house a couple of days ago.

Then, this evening we did a little Trick or Treating on our street, visiting some of our wonderful neighbors.
Thanks Mrs. Yock!
We then we to our church building for the Fall Carnival.  What a great time we had playing games and jumping on the inflatable games!  We are blessed to worship with a church family which cares so much for our kids to put this on each year!
