Disney Cruise: Day 1- Sailing Away!

Feb. 3, 2011
Bryan and I went on our first cruise to celebrate our 5th anniversary last weekend.  We decided to take a 3 night Disney Bahamian cruise.  The girls stayed at home with my mom, so it was a great get-away for the two of us!

We flew to Orlando on Wednesday and spent the night, before taking a Disney Cruise line bus to the port.

The first good view of the Disney Dream.

Goofy was available for pictures while
everyone was getting checked in.

We were announced as we entered the ship in the Main Lobby.  The Disney Dream is absolutely gorgeous!

We made our way to our room, which we soon discovered was on the very forward, port side of the ship. (That's front, left for those of us who don't speak in nautical terms.)

We headed up to deck 11 to look around, eat lunch, and watch the Sail Away party.

Next came our first ride on the AquaDuck (the first ever water roller coaster on a cruise ship), followed by some time in the adults only pool and hot tub.

We actually set sail while in the hot tub!

Next came a scrumptious dinner in the first of 3 main restaurants on the ship: The Royal Palace.  This restaurant is elegantly themed after the Disney Princesses.

And to round out our wonderful day, we enjoyed a Broadway style show: The Golden Mickeys.  This show featured many characters from many Disney movies as they were given awards for bravery, friendship, love, etc.

I can definitely say we are going to love this vacation!
