Happy Birthday Ella and Emma!!

One year ago today, God blessed us with 2 precious baby girls.  Wow!  Time has flown.  They have grown and learned so much in such a short period of time.  We are truly blessed with happy and healthy babies.

Happy Birthday Ella and Emma!!!

P.S.  I'll try to post some new pics of them soon, but it might have to wait until after their party on Saturday.

Need a Laugh?

I took this video about a month ago.  Ella and Emma were practicing standing holding on to the couch, and I started bouncing the ball in the seat.  Here's what happened:

They laughed like this for over 5 minutes!  It was way too much fun!  We are very blessed to have such happy babies!

P.S.  We purchased a new computer last week, and I am waiting to get my photo editing software loaded and pictures edited before posting new pictures.  Hopefully, I'll have lots of new pictures to share soon (including, but not limited to, Easter and both girls standing after pulling themselves up).

Keeping Up with Sister

Emma is crawling!!!!

Saturday evening Emma decided she wanted a drink out of the cup Ella was using, so she crawled over and grabbed it. I quickly ran for the video camera to try to catch it on video. To get her to crawl towards me, I built a small tower out of blocks for her to knock down. Who can resist that? Here's the video:

We did this several times, and pretty soon, Ella wanted in on the fun. Here they are crawling together:

It is so exciting to watch them learn new things! I definitely have to keep a close eye on them as they are beginning to explore. So far, they haven't really ventured outside of the living room and kitchen, but I'm sure it won't be long before I'll be searching the house for my mobile little girls.

By the way, I also discovered Emma's 3rd tooth this same day.

Break Out the Baby Proofing...

Ella is crawling!!!!

Monday morning, while I was playing with Emma, I thought I saw Ella crawl for the very first time. But, in the split second it took to give her my full attention, she started playing with a toy instead. So, I quickly grabbed the video camera, just in case, and of course, she didn't do it again. Then at lunch, she got up on her hands and knees and started rocking like she has been doing for a couple of weeks. I grabbed the video camera again, and...

I could hardly believe it!!! I was so excited!!! She crawled a short distance several times in about 45 minutes. She has not done it very much since, but at least we know she can.

Standing, Swinging, and Sliding

So many new things.... So little time. In the last 2 weeks, our girls have learned many new things.

9 Months Old

I can't believe our girls are 9 months old! They are growing more and more each day and learning new skills too. It's hard to believe we are 3/4ths of the way through their first year of life. According to the doctor last Friday: Ella is 26 3/4" tall and 18 lbs. 3 oz. and Emma is 27 1/2" tall and 17 lbs. 15 oz. They are both healthy and progressing through the normal milestones at a good pace.

Ella: loves to play with whatever toy Emma has at the moment and will take it away from her, gets up on her hands and knees and rocks, rolls all over the living room, smiles and laughs can light up a room, says Mama and Dada, loves to "read" books a.k.a. chew on them, wins screaming matches with Daddy, and much more.

Emma: has 2 teeth, loves to stand up, is beginning to try to keep Ella from stealing her toys and even taking them back, rolls all over the living room, says Dada and Mama, likes to feed herself the Gerber Puffs, smiles and laughs can light up a room, loves to "read" books a.k.a. chew on them, and much more.

They are both so very sweet!

They recently realized they can see each other through the slats in their cribs. It is now very fun to pull down on the crib bumper to check on and talk to sister.

Yes, we even sleep alike!

Prayer Request

Please pray for my good friend Jennifer Teague Preston. After being married for less than a year, she lost her husband, Kelly Preston, to complications from pneumonia about 2 weeks ago. Pray for her as she goes through the grieving process. Pray also that she will be able to find a job that will meet her financial needs as well as something she will enjoy doing.

For those of you who think her name sounds familiar, she attended LCU and was in LOA with me, as well as being a friend from high school summer camp. If you would like to contact her directly, let me know, and I will try to find the most secure way to get her contact information to you.
