Alaskan Cruise Day 6: Skagway, Alaska

My favorite picture from the trip!
If you look closely, you can see the water from a whale taking a breath in the background.
This morning we docked in Skagway, Alaska.  Another beautiful town filled with great scenery and fun things to do.  We slept in a little bit before heading to shore for our Gold Panning, Sled Dogs, and -40 degree experience.

A "Miner" showing us how to pan for gold

It's much harder than it looks!

Between our four pans we got about $53 in gold!
An actual Iditarod competitor told us about the race before
taking us to see his dogs.

40 Degrees below Zero, to see what the temperature can
be like on the Iditarod race.  BRRRRRRRRRR!!!
After this we walked around town a bit and did some shopping.

The girls got tired of walking and shopping and were so excited when we stumbled upon a park.

We walked back to our ship for dinner.

Bryan and I went to the Country/ Western night, hoping to do some dancing, but were disappointed when the cruise directors did mostly line dances and a silly game with very little dancing.
