Alaskan Cruise Day 1: Seattle, Washington

The day was finally here.  Time to leave on our long awaited Alaskan Cruise.  This vacation was a gift from Memaw and Datt for Christmas for the entire family.  All 13 of us were excited to begin the adventure.  And like many adventures in today's day and time, this one began at the airport.  It took a pretty good chunk of the day to fly to Seattle.  Ella and Emma were great travelers.  We were very proud of how well they behaved both on the airplanes and in the airports.
Ella might qualify as carry on luggage.

Emma fits too.

Upon arrival, we took a bus to the hotel, then caught a train to the ocean.  We started out at the Public Market.  We mostly just walked through on our way to find something to eat.  Then, down many, many stairs to the ocean.

We ate dinner before heading out to look around.  We considered trying to get a ride on the enormous Ferris Wheel, but the line was entirely too long (hours wait time).  So after some more sight seeing, we headed back up all the stairs (with a few stops to rest and take pictures), back on the train, and back to the hotel for the night.

So, we started the day in cars, then airplanes, a bus, trains, and lots of walking .  Tomorrow, we board the ship.  We're off to a good start.
