Disney Vacation: Mermaid Makeovers

One of the major highlights of our trip has been the Mermaid Makeovers at The Pirate's League.  We had originally planned to go the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but there were no reservations available that would fit our schedule.  However, when the cast member assisting us with the reservations described the Mermaid Makeovers, we knew that would be a better choice for us after all.  And it was WONDERFUL!!!

First our girls changed into their mermaid attire and signed the entry log.
Then, after a short wait, it was our turn.  Ella's pirate was ready for her first followed shortly thereafter by Emma's.  They had their hair fixed, nails painted, and makeup done.  Ariel had even left a special flower hair clip and flower shell necklace to keep them safe and allow them to change between human and mermaid as needed.  It was all so amazing.
 Ella's Makeover:

 Emma's Makeover:
 Receiving their Mermaid Sashes:
The professional photo shoot:  They were both so serious during these pictures, Ella especially.  We did get Emma to smile a couple of times.
Pictures we took just outside: (notice the magic flower hair clips have turned red (Ella) and purple (Emma) and their magic necklaces are now a darker shade of blue.)
They absolutely love their Mermaid Makeovers, and so do we!

An example of how magical Disney is and how much they care: During the makeovers, I was mostly by Emma while Daddy was mostly by Ella (about 6 feet apart).  I was completely amazed by the pirate doing Emma's makeup.  At one point, as Emma is looking at herself in the mirror and grinning ear to ear, he leaned over and asked her if she wanted to know a "secret".  Of course she said yes!  He went on to say, "Even when the makeup is gone- you are still beautiful!  Because beauty isn't about your face but your heart."  I almost cried.  Emma replied, "I know.  I learned that in Bible class."  He then told her, "Bible class is the most important class.  You should always pay attention in there."  He went on the ask her what else she had learned in Bible class.  She mentioned David and Goliath, so they retold the story together.  I was completely amazed.  Here we were, getting a mermaid makeover in the middle of the Magic Kingdom and the cast member is talking about the Bible and giving our sweet Emma wonderful advice about life.  It was truly moving.
